My Story
I have always been fascinated with the different parts of grief that we as a Western society experience. Ultimately, seeing a client reach a stage in their grief where they can hold space for the loss in their psychological world while simultaneously moving forward in their physical world is such a joy for me to be a part of and witness. The relief in a client's face as they work towards that held space is what led me to become certified in Grief Counseling.

My children were born early, resulting in a lengthy NICU stay. It was during this time that I realized how much support parents need from others even outside of the medical community. Searching for this support was easier said than done, leading me to find out how I could be that support for others. It was then that I became a Certified Perinatal Mental Health Clinician.

If you have experienced a traumatic event and are struggling with: intrusive memories, avoiding reminders of the trauma, negative self-talk or thoughts about yourself or others and intense emotions, you may be experiencing symptoms of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder. Through Cognitive Processing Therapy we will work towards you feeling emotions that arise from the trauma and change thoughts that are keeping you stuck.

Wearing many hats, such as a parent of premature children with health difficulties and a spouse to a First Responder, I understand being pulled in many different directions and life changing at a moment's notice. I also empathize with feeling that your self-care may fall to the bottom of your never ending "to do" list. In my office, I offer a safe place to process life. I incorporate several treatment interventions, tailored to what you need at that time.

With a combination of firsthand experience and clinical knowledge, I can help navigate you through these difficult times. I won't promise it will be easy, but you won't go through this journey alone. Looking for help is the first step.
